“Strikes for Free Speech is an opportunity to support locally produced, diverse programming that is rooted in the unique cultural context of Santa Cruz County,” said Ian McFadden, chairman of the board of directors. “How we tell our own story in the media can help strengthen our community, however, just as we are working to better serve the youth, the seniors, South County and the nonprofit community, we have looming budget cuts on the horizon.”
The Bowl-A-Thon will feature five-person fundraising teams, an exceptional slate of Raffle Prizes, music and refreshments. The event, of course, will be broadcast.
In addition to bowlers of all levels, we are seeking donations of items and services for our raffle. We have kite boxes and wine tours, specialty food items and services. Please consider what it means to the community to have a local all-access, online streaming, television station that reflects a community’s vision.
We have several giving categories, from Strike Sponsor ($250) & League Sponsor ($500) to Perfect Game Sponsor ($1,000) and King Pin Sponsor ($2,500). In addition to our heartfelt gratitude, each donor category provides exposure, for example, in event press releases, T-shirts or other marketing materials as well as on-air mentions.
For $1,000 we can:
- Teach 30 local youth digital media classes
- Cover four important local events, (such as the James Durbin press conference, the UCSC Poetry Slam and SCCAL Swimming championships)
- Stream five local government meetings on the internet
- Or offer the CTV studio to 10 local access productions and keep our community connected.
Remember: This is your public access station. Please drop by our offices and studio to join our dedicated volunteers and receive low cost training in film production to become a content contributor or just watch how we put shows together.
